论如何错误地套路一个魔教教主 by 一只大雁

Zhao Jian Gue sat down beside Ji Han.
In front of Ji Han was still his bowl of scrambled egg noodles that he’d only eaten two bites of. He was very hungry but with Zhao Jian Gue sitting beside him he was too embarrassed to continue eating.
This scene was unspeakably awkward.
Zhao Jian Gue really wanted to continue conversing about swordplay with Ji Han but he thought that when someone was eating, sword skills were not a very good conversation piece. Besides continually bringing up the same topic was bound to be boring. As such he shut his mouth and sat watching the other man dully.
Ji Han had no choice but to put down his chopsticks.
Ji Han asked him: “What do you want to talk about?”
Zhao Jian Gue sincerely said: “I don’t know.”
Ji Han contemplated, then said: “You really killed the leader’s head disciple?”
No. I didn’t.
Not only had he not but the guy was living the time of his life right now: hiding inside the Hao Ran League, only needing to eat and eat – sleep and sleep all day long.
But he could only admit the crime.
Ji Han asked: “What wrong did he commit?”
Zhao Jian Gue stated: “He didn’t do anything wrong.”
Ji Han: “Then why did you kill him?”
He never needed a reason for killing someone, because he was inherently a villain, but Zhao Jian Gue was different: Zhao Jian Gue was a hero, when a hero pulled his sword there had to be a reason behind it.
Good thing the martial arts elders had thought of an excuse for him.
Zhao Jian Gue said: “I’d been drinking.”
Ji Han was more or less surprised: “You’d been drinking?”
Zhao Jian Gue sighed, looking very upset: “I had never drank before.”
Ji Han understood: “You were intoxicated?”
Zhao Jian Gue nodded.
Ji Han seemingly became filled with interest.
Ji Han: “You’ve never drank before then?”
Zhao Jian Gue answered: “Yes, drinking alcohol causes a person’s reflexes to slow down -causes the sword in their hand to become unstable.”
Ji Han asked: “You really can’t tolerate alcohol?”
Ji Han: “Never thought the world number one swordsman would have something he wasn’t good at.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “Everybody has a weakness.”
Ji Han: “I finally have something that can surpass you.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …ah?”
Ji Han was slightly excited: “Since you can’t sleep we’ll have ourselves a good drinking contest.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”

Several jugs of 20 year old “Zhu Yue Qing” were all lined up on the table.
Zhao Jian Gue was still vehemently trying to reject: “I don’t know how to drink, I really can’t drink.”
Ji Han countered by asking: “You’re afraid that you’ll again exhibit drunken madness?”
Zhao Jian Gue was not at all reserved in his statement: “I…I kill people when I drink alcohol!”
Ji Han was a bit stunned; he couldn’t help thinking that Zhao Jian Gue’s behavior was very intriguing.
“You can relax,” Ji Han spoke, “Killing me is not that easy.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “But… …”
Ji Han had already broken the seal on one of the wine jugs.
In a moment the fragrance of the rich wine disseminated everywhere.
As soon as Zhao Jian Gue smelled the wine, he already felt his head getting dizzy.
Ji Han spoke again: “Relax, you don’t know how to drink and so this Venerable One will not bully you either.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
Ji Han: “You drink one cup, this Venerable One will take 3 cups.”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
This kind of concession inevitably caused a bit of frustration to form in Zhao Jian Gue’s heart.
Ji Han was very gratified in that moment.
Unsure of the reason, just seeing Zhao Jian Gue’s frustrated appearance, caused him to feel strange uncontrollable satisfaction. This feeling was more thrilling than even the kind he got after advancing in sword skills.
Zhao Jian Gue parted his lips, speaking: “That won’t do.”
Ji Han was very delighted: “Then how many more cups do you want me to give you advancement on?”
“I don’t like anyone going easy on me,” Zhao Jian Gue said one word at a time: “You-drink-a-cup-I’ll-drink-a-cup.”
Ji Han: “… …”
… …
Ji Han was very displeased.
His strange sense of satisfaction hadn’t even lasted that long before it was knocked down with one sentence from Zhao Jian Gue. How could he be happy with that?
Ji Han always considered himself as having good alcohol toleration. Occasionally at sect banquets, he could single-handedly out-drink everyone in the hall until they were all intoxicated while he himself was still only 60-70% drunk.
Zhao Jian Gue wanted to have a fair showdown with him?
[Overestimating oneself.]*
Jin Han grinned coldly.
Watch this Venerable One intoxicate you.
*Idiom 自不量力 literally meaning ‘not knowing one’s own strength’ but has implication that one is overestimating oneself.

After half a round of drinks, Ji Han was already having some regrets.
He should have first finished eating that bowl of scrambled egg noodles before competing with Zhao Jian Gue.
Hungry people were naturally more prone to getting drunk.
Right now his head was already a bit dizzy; his stomach a little uncomfortable.
What’s more Zhao Jian Gue wasn’t really as intolerant of alcohol as he’d made himself to be.
It seemed like the task of getting the man drunk was not going to be that easy after all.
… …
Zhao Jian Gue was also quite annoyed.
He never drank alcohol that was indeed a true statement.
This would count as his first time drinking.
When the first cup of liquor touched his lips, Zhao Jian Gue still didn’t understand what was so damn appealing about this stuff?
After finishing the half round of drinks, he was of the opinion that the entire world was beautiful; his heart was filled with hopeful ambition; the sect leader beside him was his best friend. He simply had an entire chest full of personal secrets he wanted to share with the other person.
It was only later on did he realize that this was a sign of intoxication.
Ji Han just grit his teeth before continuing to toast him.
Zhao Jian Gue also could only grit his teeth before continuing to drink.
Both people were the ‘unwilling to surrender’ type. By the end, Zhao Jian Gue’s head was dizzy, eyes bleary, and just wanted to collapse for a good night’s sleep.
Ji Han yanked on his collar, yelling at him through slurred speech: “You… …you lied to me, you’re overtly very tolerant of alcohol… …”
Before even finishing his words, the man had already slid down the table.
Zhao Jian Gue put his head on the table, both eyes weary, while in his head he had only one vague thought:
He never wanted to drink alcohol again.

The sky was very bright when Zhao Jian Gue next woke up.
He was lying on a very soft bed, body covered by a high quality silk quilt.
Zhao Jian Gue felt a splitting headache and was thirsty enough to probably drink all the water tank’s water.
Someone was shouting from outside the door, sounding like Xiao Lin’s voice.
“Sect leader, the Left and Right Enforcers along with the sect’s elder members have been waiting in the Council Hall for a long time now. Is your excellency awake yet?”
In that moment, Zhao Jian Gue was slightly confused.
… …sect leader?
He turned his head to take in the sight of an expressionless Ji Han.
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
Ji Han: “… …”

Ji Han suppressed his voice’s volume while he asked: “Why are you here?!”
Zhao Jian Gue’s cognitive processing was still a bit delayed: “Where?”
Ji Han quietly seethed: “This is this Venerable One’s bedroom!”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
Yeah! Why was he sleeping in the sect leader’s bed!
Yesterday they both got drunk…then what happened?
A loud ruckus emitted from outside.
Xiao Lin stated: “Elder Wen, Enforcer Flower. Why did your excellencies’ come here?”
A woman’s gentle voice orated: “Today our sect leader has taken a long time to get out of bed. I can’t help but be a bit worried.”
Xiao Lin replied: “Enforcer Flower need not worry. Presumably, sect leader has already started getting dressed.”
Ji Han’s complexion was dark, wanting to leap out of bed but in his half movement the silk covers slipped from him, revealing his lean but muscular naked upper body.
Ji Han: “… …”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
… … had he succeeded in the seduction plan?
… …
An old man’s furious voice came shouting into the air from outside: “He’s only been the Sect Leader for a few days! And he’s already this negligent! Open the door! This old one must teach the boy a lesson in memory of our previous leader!”
Xiao Lin: “Elder Wen! Your excellency must not be so agitated!”
Ji Han desperately threw the quilt over Zhao Jian Gue’s head like his life depended on it.
Still immersed in having succeeded with the seduction plan, Zhao Jian Gue felt deep confusion by Ji Han’s action.
Ji Han: “If you dare to show your face, this Venerable One will strangle you to death!”
Zhao Jian Gue: “… …”
The room’s door had already been forcibly pushed open by Elder Wen.
Xiao Lin and several maids stood awkwardly outside, waiting by the doorway. Elder Wen brusquely rushed forward into the room with Enforcer Flower standing a bit to the side – the latter here as if only to watch in entertainment.
Clothes were strewn every which way in the room, Ji Han gripped the unused half of the quilt against his bare chest, looking as if he wanted nothing more than to use the duvet to suffocate the other person next to him.
Elder Wen: “… …”
