Wang Yu Dong: “I know about you and Zhou Xiang’s relationship. This time you have to help me. You cannot let him go.”

YMX: “Dong Ge. You can rest assured. I won’t let him go.”

(At the film launching ceremony)

Reporter: “WYD has arrived! It’s really him!”

Cai Wei: “Move aside please.” (on call with Director) “No, I didn’t see him at the entrance. He isn’t even answering his phone.” (looking around worried) “What is going on?!”

(Back in apartment)

ZX: (gets tackled) “LET GO OF ME! Have you lost your mind?!”

YMX: (while tying him up and struggling with him) “Don’t think of going anywhere! Let me tell you, don’t even think of going anywhere. If I were to let you film a movie with that pretty boy Lan Xirong, I’ll change my surname!”

ZX: “Regardless of how well you treat Wang Yu Dong, he will never be with you! He is your brother-in-law! What good is doing any of this?! He will never be with you! NEVER!”

YMX: “I know.”

(Back at launching ceremony)

Reporter interviewing WYD: “Previously there have been some rumors that this film was going to switch you out as a lead, what thoughts have you on this matter?”

WYD: “Ha, am I not standing here nevertheless?”

(Apartment)

ZX: “YMX, YMX, I beg of you. I BEG OF YOU. Let me go. Wang Yu Dong will only lose just one role but if I were to not go then all my years in the entertainment circle will be over!”

YMX: “Then so be it! I’ll support you!”

ZX: “LET GO OF ME!”

(Ceremony)

Lan Xirong: “Xiang Ge, is still not answering his phone! The fuck!”

Cai Wei: “It’s all over…”

LXR: “I’ll keep calling.”

LMX: “I’ll let you go after the launching ceremony. I’ll keep my word. Director Zhang Lin is looking for investors in an upcoming film, I’ll recommend you as the lead. This role isn’t any less than Dong Ge’s role, what more do you have to be dissatisfied with?!”

ZX: “YMX, what if I said, I only wanted Wang Yu Dong’s role?”

(Apartment)

YMX: (while forcing himself into ZX, whispering into his ear): “I’ve missed you…”

ZX: “I must have been completely blind…to have fallen for you.”

YMX: “Xiang Ge…I won’t pretend you’re Wang Yu Dong anymore…”

(Later on at the café, waiting for Director Zhang Lin to appear)

YMX: “Xiang Ge, wait a bit longer, Director Zhang will be here soon.” (pours water)

ZX: “I’ll use the restroom for a bit.”

*walks away to corner bathroom*

YMX: (monologue internally while watching him leave) “When he disappeared around the corner, that silhouette was no different from usual, it still looked very similar to Wang Yu Dong, yet I could finally very clearly recognize that that was Zhou Xiang. That was the last day I laid on eyes on him….”

ZX calling Cai Wei inside restroom: “Thank my ancestors! You finally materialized! The launching ceremony-“

ZX: “YMX obstructed me, Wang Yu Dong made a call to him…he…just, in plain terms, I wasn’t able to go.”

Cai Wei: “Fuck! The rich really know how to oppress the poor! And you guys have been dating for awhile now too! How could he not show any compassion towards you? Forget about Wang Yu Dong just being engaged to his sister, even if they were already married, he (YMX) should not have been so merciless!”

ZX: “Wei Ge, saying any of this now is all pointless. I have no face to see Director Liu or anyone else in the circle now, do you have any path for me that can help me earn some money?”

CW: “Ay, there is one, but it’s too arduous.”

ZX: “Wei Ge, you can just tell me (the job).”

(On the mountainside, in the middle of rain)

Documentary fellow coworker: “Zhou Xiang, can you lend me your charging cable? This set up is about to run out of power.”

ZX: “Sure, no problem. You can use it.” *reaches into bag and hands him charging cable, sees his phone right as notification pops up) (he returns LXR’s various calls)

LXR: “Hello!? Xiang Ge! Where did you go?! How come you wouldn’t pick up your phone?! Did you know how anxious I was? Wei Ge said you went to work but wouldn’t tell me where.”

ZX: *sighs* “He introduced for me a documentary filming job, right now I’m at Guangxi, it’s been very busy so I didn’t turn on my cell onto now.”

LXR: “Is that place…is it safe there?”

ZX: “It’s no problem. There’s more than 20 people in our production crew. It’s just a little bit harder in manual labor but it’ll give me good experience, you don’t have to worry about me.” (phone breaks up) “Oh my cell phone has very little electricity left, and tomorrow we’ll be entering the rough hinterlands, there will be no signal. I’ll contact you again when I next have the chance.”

LXR: “Mm, okay. Then I’ll be waiting for you when you get back.”

(call ends, YMX’s call comes, ZX answers)

YMX: “You finally turned on your cell.”

ZX: “You bugged my phone?”

YMX: “Yes, because would you have ever initiated a call with me? You ran to such a far place just to hide from me.”

ZX: “I did it for work.”

YMX: “Zhou Xiang, come back. Why must you go against me? What good does this do for you…I will be at your home, waiting for you to come back.”

ZX: “Why can’t you just let me go?”

YMX: “I want to start over with you. I like the feeling when I’m with you. Aren’t these reasons good enough?”

ZX: “If you had said any of this before you called out Wang Yu Dong’s name while hugging me, I would have agreed to anything.”

YMX: “Zhou Xiang, don’t be so demanding! What more do you want from me?!”

ZX: “Ming Xiu, you don’t understand. You don’t understand what it meant for me to be treated as Wang Yu Dong’s substitute from you. You also don’t understand how important that one role was to me. The two of us can’t communicate. Let’s just leave it at that.”

(silence)
